UPF-sanctioned events use a common registration, eligibility, scoring and closeout process so every recognized competition can contribute to the federation’s player and Tour systems.
1. Create the Event
The director defines the discipline, event type, class eligibility, race structure, field size, entry fee, prize structure, rating status, Tour status and any published UPF contribution before registration opens.
2. Register Players
Existing members are selected from the UPF player database. New players receive a provisional UPF profile and complete the evidence and classification process required for the event.
3. Validate Eligibility
The system confirms membership status, competitive class, provisional restrictions and any event-specific qualification requirements. Class-locked events do not rely on self-selected player levels.
4. Build the Field
The event uses the approved seeding method for that format. Tour events can use current Tour standing, qualification position or another published competitive seed. Open events can use rating, random draw or another declared method.
5. Run Digital Scoresheets
Each match records the competitors, discipline, race, score and, where available, game-level results. Team formats preserve both the team result and the individual player observations underneath it.
6. Finalize Results
Finalized matches are written to the UPF Competition Ledger. Rating observations, match history, achievements and other competitive records are generated from the same source result rather than entered separately.
7. Award Tour Points
When an event carries Tour status, final placement and the published event point schedule determine the points credited to each eligible player. Points belong to the Tour and competitive context in which they were earned.
8. Close the Financial Record
The event closeout preserves entries, published payouts, sponsor additions, UPF-added money and any disclosed Tour contribution. The financial record remains distinct from rating calculations and competitive eligibility.
9. Close the Event
A completed event preserves final placements, bracket history, match results, rating observations, Tour Point awards, payout records, Tour obligations and administrative corrections in one auditable record.
Corrections
Finalized competition is corrected through an amendment process rather than silently overwritten. The original result, correction, reason, approving authority and downstream recalculations remain traceable.
UPF standard: A sanctioned event ends with a complete competitive record, not simply a finished bracket.
