UPF separates playing ability, competitive position and competitive accomplishment so each can tell its own story.
UPF Rating
The UPF Rating is intended to represent playing ability using verified competition and appropriate confidence measures. New players may enter provisionally using credible outside evidence, then establish a native UPF record through sanctioned play.
UPF Ranking
Rankings show relative competitive position within published categories, disciplines or classes. A rating describes ability; a ranking describes where a competitor stands.
Tour Points
Tour Points recognize competitive participation, advancement and accomplishment across eligible events. They provide a separate pathway for recognizing players who consistently compete and progress on the federation stage.
Transparent Competitive History
Federation systems are being designed to preserve the underlying match and event record so ratings, rankings and points can be audited and improved without losing the history that produced them.
